John LaSpina got into music at an early age and began playing drums by age 8. He has studied with Long Island based Jazz drummers - Howie Mann and Al Miller. His early influences were Carmine Appice, John Bonham, Nicko McBrain, Neil Peart. As of late John has been studying some of today's 'Alien Drummers' such as Thomas Lang, Marco Minneman, Johnny Rabb, and Virgil Donati. John was also a finalist in the first ever 'Battle of the Beats' held by the Long Island Drum Center.
He has worked with several local bands/artists here on the island including Arrival, Joker's Child, Reckless Fortune and Sonic Blonde. He has also shared the stage with former/current members of Twisted Sister, Billy Joel, and Dave Chappelle's backing band. In addition to drums John also plays guitar.
